Female domestic workers are often seen as an invisible workforce due to the nature of their work and the way it is valued and recognized by society. The history of domestic work is closely linked to the history of gender inequality, racial discrimination, and exploitation. In many societies, domestic work has been associated with women's work, and this has led to the devaluation and underpayment of domestic workers. This research paper explores the challenges faced by female domestic workers and the impact of their work on their lives and families. The study is based on a review of existing literature and data, as well as interviews with female domestic workers. To understand the live reality of female domestic worker's we need to have a proper definition and methodology to specify the problem of female domestic workers belonging to an affected group. In this, we are trying to use appropriate methods to capture the data related to the FDWs. For this here we are using a qualitative approach to obtain in the data. Qualitative methods are an exploratory method of inquiry that typically involves investigating an unknown subject matter, sensitive topics, or difficult to access populations. It is an approach rather than a particular set of techniques. This paper focuses on the rationale qualitative methods used to examine the methodology to capture the live reality of the FDW's of Nirala Nagar, Lucknow. The qualitative nature of this study reveals insight through it focuses on emerging themes and pattern that developed over the time. Methods used included 25 samples (FDW) which were collected from Nirala Nagar, Lucknow by purposive sampling technique (mainly used snowball sampling). It also included participant observation; pre/post survey; a collection of data through interviews, FGD's (Focus Group Discussions) and PRA (Participatory Research Action) with FDW's.
