Abstract
For the development of economy there is a requirement of fulfilment of credit gaps and mobilization of funds and provide the funds to everyone who is needy. The concept of lead bank scheme in 1969 in India through the efforts of RBI. The main of the lead bank is to provide the credit facility for the development of small scale business, farming activity and financial development of that area. Lead bank plays a vital role in every districts developmental activities both individual persons, investors, business man ,stake holders and general public. It gives various types of loans to individuals and business mans. It helps to increase employment opportunities in every districts The lead bank provides financial assistant to every districts. This activities to promote saving schemes to individuals. Individuals income are converted to investment of new business and its main focus is to avoid regional imbalances between rural and urban areas. The present paper will give the general outlook and empirical study of the lead bank and lead bank schemes performance on India.
