Abstract
The aim of this paper is to develop a new flexible statistical model to examine the COVID-19 data sets that cannot be modeled by a classical inverse exponential distribution. A novel extended distribution with one scale and two shape parameters is proposed using the type 1 Half-Logistic Exponentiated distribution. Some important properties of the new distribution like Probability Weighted Moments, moments, Moment Generating Function, Reliability function, Quantile Function, expressions of order statistics are derived. Parameters of the derived distribution are obtained using maximum likelihood method. The performances of the estimators are assessed through Monte-Carlo simulation, which shows that the maximum likelihood method works well in estimating the parameters. The new distribution was applied to COVID-19 data sets in order access the flexibility and adaptability of the distribution. The result shows that new distribution performance better than other comparators models.
