Abstract
: Microbiome comprises a complex collection of microorganisms, with their genes and metabolites colonising different body niches in a deep symbiotic relationship in the aspect of both health and diseases. Microbial populations vary across the body sites, driven by different environmental condition, immunological factors and interactions between microbial species. It is now well known that the microbiome interact with their host, assisting in the bioconversion of nutrients and detoxification, boosting immunity and protecting against pathogenic microbes, maintaining individual’s health Major human diseases like infectious diseases, liver diseases, gastrointestinal cancers, metabolic diseases, respiratory diseases, mental or psychiatric diseases and autoimmune diseases. Diseases including recently frequent emerging infectious diseases such as HIV infection, and CDI has a major impact on the human microbiota, determining the outcome of the infectious disease in the human host body. Consumption of prebiotics or probiotics has been used to treat health conditions including constipation, allergic reactions and infections in infancy, and IBS. Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) highly effective for treating recurrent Clostridium difficile infections. The gut microbiome virtually affects the human health, but the scientific study, the new models and emerging technologies and the mechanism of action varies from one to the other. The human gut microbiome and its role in both health and disease involves human metabolism, nutrition, physiology, and immune function. The normal gut microbiota imbalance leads to gastrointestinal conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and atopy.
