Abstract
A healthy family is the cornerstone of a healthy society, and family planning helps to develop that community. Although the subdermal contraceptive implant is one of the most successful birth control methods, it is not frequently used due to the issues around it. The goal of this multi-case qualitative study is to investigate women's experiences following subdermal contraceptive implant insertion as a method of family planning. Three (3) women who underwent subdermal contraceptive implant insertion were the participants in the case study and were purposively chosen from the Municipality of Barobo, Province of Surigao del Sur. All the participants went through a thorough interview conducted last April 2024. In using content analysis as a qualitative data analysis approach, the results revealed that participants had the following viewpoints on the subdermal contraceptive implant as a family planning technique: expressing their thoughts about the contraceptive method, confronting unexpected experiences, and accepting these experiences. Ultimately, the results showed the women's experiences following a subdermal contraceptive implant through thematic maps and tables.
