Abstract Islam, as a complete code of life, encompasses all aspects of life and provides principles and methodologies to help people face the daily challenges they encounter. These principles are generally accepted and followed by the followers of Islam. The protection of life, is a fundamental value and objective in Islam. Peace is considered the normal state of affairs between people, regardless of differences in religion, philosophy, or anything else. However, peace is achieved by repelling unjust aggression against innocent people. Islam and its scholarly tradition have established rules regarding warfare to ensure that it remains one of the noblest form of conflict. This article delves into the concept of war in Islam, governed by restricted rules, and emphasizes how Islam integrates worldly affairs and human behavior with consideration for the hereafter. It highlights the importance of defending human rights, preventing injustice and oppression, and preserving human dignity. The article also explores the noble motives behind Islamic warfare, including protecting the innocent, safeguarding the lives and properties of civilians, promoting peace, and prohibiting any military tactics involving the use of torture or terrorism. Furthermore, it introduces the key themes and principles that will be discussed in detail throughout the article, providing readers with insight into the rich tradition of Islamic teachings on war and conflict resolution.
