Abstract
With current scientific and technological resources, skincare products are being developed at lightning speed. But very few are making it to the worldwide market due to the competition and lack of novelty. A skin care gel developed with medicinal properties will be a unique invention. There are a lot of plants and their parts used in Ayurveda with a variety of medicinal properties. Nalparam the bark collection of four varieties of figs (Ficus Carica, Ficus Infectoria, Ficus Religiosa & Ficus Bengalensis) is used to treat skin diseases and to remove stretch marks in pregnant women. It is known as the skin illuminator and aids in skin detoxification. Vetiver essential oil is hailed for its use in skin cell regeneration and boosting the growth of new cells. Vetiver when applied to the skin relieves stress, emotional traumas, shock, lice, and repelling insects. It is also used for arthritis, stings, and burns. Vetiver is sometimes inhaled as aromatherapy for nervousness, insomnia, and joint and muscle pain. Aloe vera which is a common medicinal plant used for its gelling properties also has many uses for skin. It soothes sunburns and skin injuries. It is a good moisturizer and skin color brightener. It is also used for reducing stretch marks and acne. It is also known to slow down the signs of aging. The addition of all these skin-friendly plants for making a gel will be beneficial for all age group individuals.
