The colonial period was a very unfortunate event in the history of India. It left a bitter feeling in the minds of every Indian. Colonialism led to a substantial outflow of financial resources. Our country 'Bharatvarsh' which was popularly known as the 'Golden Bird' in ancient time due to her enormous wealth, was then losing wealth to the imperial British, who arrived as traders and became rulers. The Indian society and economy suffered a serious setback during British rule. I am presenting my paper on the colonial impact on Indian society and economy.
