One of the most important global health issues at the moment is antibiotic resistance (AR). AMR is on the rise as a result of the improper prescription of antibiotics, their excessive use in the livestock industry, and inadequate hygienic procedures in hospitals, among other instances of antibiotic abuse in the medical, veterinary, and agricultural sectors. Understanding the processes by which bacteria resist antibiotics will be essential to resolving the situation. Bacteria have a variety of defences against antibiotics. The sensitivity or resistance of an isolate to any treatment candidates can be determined using laboratory-based approaches for antibiotic resistance detection. Antibiotic resistance can be minimized by the proper use of antibiotics, immunization, education, research, the creation of novel antibiotics, legislation, regulations, antimicrobial resistance surveillance, and antibiotic use.
