Abstract: The use of recycled aggregates from demolished constructions as a coarse aggregate for concrete becomes a need to reduce the negative effects on the environment. This study aims to study the effect of using recycled materials (such as crushed concrete, crushed ceramic and crushed red brick) as coarse aggregate for high-strength concrete on the main properties of high-strength concrete. The application of recycled aggregate has been started in a large number of construction projects of many European, American, Russian and Asian countries. the properties of recycled aggregate concrete are also determined. Basic concrete properties like compressive strength, flexural strength, workability etc. are explained here for different combinations of recycled aggregate with natural aggregate. Codal guidelines of recycled aggregates concrete in various countries are stated here with their effects, on concreting work. Many researchers state that recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) are only suitable for non-structural concrete application. This research, however, shows that the recycled aggregates that are obtained from concrete specimen make good quality concrete.
