Abstract

: The paper delves into the utilization of p-q theory, a theoretical framework capable of analyzing and regulating the power of electrical systems, specifically in Shunt Active filter Reactive Power compensation and compensation in a three-phase system. The study employs the Clarke transformation, a mathematical method that transforms the three-phase system into a two-phase system and subsequently converts it back into the original three-phase system. Additionally, simulation studies conducted using MATLAB complement the research and provide supporting evidence for their findings. In conclusion, this paper presents a comprehensive analysis, both theoretically and through simulation, on the use of p-q theory for compensation in a three-phase system. Furthermore, the study highlights the issue of harmonic distortion generated by nonlinear loads, which remains a significant challenge in this field and calls for ongoing research to improve the system
