Washing hands is considered the best way to maintain personal hygiene and protect oneself from diseases. The purpose of hand washing in the health care is to remove pathogenic microorganisms ("germs") and avoid transmitting them. Hand washing removes visible dirt from hands and reduce the number of harmful microorganisms. Harmful bacteria and viruses such as, E. Coli and Salmonella can be carried by people, animals or equipment and transmitted to food. Plant extracts and products have been used for centuries in traditional medicine, functional food, natural dyes, cosmetics, as a detergent and in the treatment of diseases. In present study we formulate poly herbal hand wash using different plant extracts with potential antibacterial activity and thereby establishing them as a potent antimicrobial agent in the formulation of herbal hand wash. In the pharmaceutical industry, there are numerous marketed liquid formulations such as poly herbal hand wash.In these formulations Azadirachta Indica (Neem), Ocimum Tenuiflorum (Tulsi), Mentha Arevensis (Pudina) & Coriandrum Sativum (Coriander) were used for extraction. We have various types of evaluation tests right from colour, odour, and pH to after-feel. It is the middle viscosity test (Brooke Field Viscometer), non irritancy, spread ability, wash ability, etc.
