The title of this project “Literary Representations of Trauma and Memory in Kazuo Ishiguro’s Select Novels” itself needs a detailed explanation. The novels selected for this project study on the literary aspects are;
1. A Pale View of Hills.
2. When We Were Orphans.
As the theme suggests, the on-stage role of trauma and memory are the major belvedere which has been tried to portray in this paper. Also, the fun and interesting fact which has been tried to put up here is the traumatic memory indulging with the conscious and the sub-conscious minds and also the detailed works of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Selected Narratives are being brought up so captivatingly in this particular paper. The concluding episode will focus on the shared elements linking the two books. The audience quickly learns that the storytellers of both works are not entirely trustworthy in how they portray the past. I shall thus devote a section on faulty narrative.
