Abstract
This article examines the present situation of education, skills development (SD), and employment for youth of India, as well as the issues faced by the SD system in India. Globalization and technology disruption provide both problems and possibilities for economic growth and employment development. With competent human potential, the country can become a productive, inventive, and competitive economy. By cultivating abilities and polishing skills and knowledge, skill development may broaden one's perspective and employment prospects. It is a tool for increasing efficacy and allowing a person to function more efficiently. The researcher has attempted to comprehend how skill development training affects employability in the nation. It is found that focusing just on education while disregarding skills and career counseling or on employment while ignoring skill education would not provide the intended effects. It is critical to work hard to obtain technical and transferrable abilities. Skills training should be based on an essential basic education level but cannot replace it.
