Abstract
Photography is not limited just for natural photography, human portraits it has found use in dentistry. Digital images make it possible to evaluate the treatment's progression and compare substantial improvements prior to dental procedures. Dental photography is recognised of as a diagnostic tool, much like radiography, study casts, or other examinations and tests. A total 250 participant took part in this questionnaire based study of those 53.2% were males and the remaining 46.8% were females. Their qualification was 74.4% were Bachelors of Dental Surgery (BDS) and 25.6% were Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS). Only 7.2% of the used a DSLR camera in clinical photography. 82% of the study participants think it is important to record cases for marketing purposes while only 8.4% believed in recording cases for treatment planning. Dental clinical photography education was not up to par, and students need to fully comprehend how digital cameras actually function in addition to the medico-legal aspects associated to clinical photography.
