In the recent times, the advancements in IOT devices/ sensors has led to the production of large volumes of data which cannot be transferred to geostationary cloud processing centers. Bulk of data processing also leads to low speed at cloud centers .So, a new concept of fog computing is used to ease the work of cloud processors. Fog computing extends the functionality of cloud computing by providing additional storage ,necessary computational ,communication and processing facilities in proximity to the end user. This article presents the study of working of fog networks along with real time application areas of fog computing.
