Abstract

K.B.K. from the state of Odisha is represented in this study. District (Koraput-Balangir-Kalahandi). An effort has been made in this work to analyse and assess the current state of solid waste management. According to the KBK plate survey, the respondents in this case were chosen using the sampling method on a non-proportional basis. On the basis of the selection of the 07 sub-division of KBK as the study area, the 14 tehsils of Koraput, the 14 tehsil of Balangir, and the 13 tehsils of Koraput have been included. Both the interview schedule and the method of observation have been used in the research study's core data collecting. The study has revealed that there is a need for increased public and governmental knowledge of solid waste management, and that effective upkeep and management of solid waste management are required because of the large number of nearby industries. The KBK region of Odisha will be chosen as the study area for the current solid waste management techniques. The planning commission redesigned several of these districts as KBK since it believes that southern and western Odisha are the most underdeveloped regions (Kalahandi-Balangir-Koraput). The three major districts were reorganised into eight districts in 1992–1993, namely Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabrangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nuapada, Balangir, and Sonepur. The eight districts are divided into 14 subdistricts, 37 Tehsil, 80 CD Blocks, 1437 Grampanchayats, and 12293 Villages. Eight districts in the KBK region make up 19.27 percent of the state's population and cover more than 30.59 percent of its land area. In this area, villages are still home to almost 90% of the population. Only 24.72 percent of women are literate. According to the census of BPL households, compared to 82 percent in 1992, 72 families in this region are estimated to be living below the poverty line.
