Title: A study to assess the effect of planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding anger management among adolescents in selected school, West Bengal
Introduction: Anger is one of the basic natural emotion experienced in everyday life. It is a discomfort in response to other emotion or specific provocation .Adolescence is usually a transitional stage of physical and psychological development between childhood and adulthood. An adolescent uses anger or aggression as a self-expression for meeting up need. Adolescents with chronically angry generally tend to experience stress .They may face difficulties in managing their behaviour and emotions because they still do not have sufficient levels of effective coping experience.
Objectives:
1. To assess knowledge on anger management among adolescents school students, WB.
2. To find out the effect of planned teaching programme in term of post test knowledge on anger management among adolescents school student, WB.
3. To find out the association between pretest knowledge score regarding anger management with selected variables.
Methodology: Pre-experimental (One –group Pretest-Posttest ) research design was adopted . The sample of the study was 60 adolescent school students of class XI & XII at Chandkuri Union High School selected through non probability sampling technique. Ethical consideration was obtained from institutional ethical committee and respective authority. Background information were collected by semi structured questionnaire and structured questionnaire used for assessing knowledge before and after administration of PTP.
Result: The findings revealed that mean of pre test was 7.43 and mean of post test was 14.13, with mean difference 6.7 was found statistically significant as evident from ‘t’ value 12.01 at 0.05 level of significance which indicates the effectiveness of planned teaching programme.
Conclusion: PTP was effective in increasing knowledge regarding anger management among adolescent school students.
