Abstract: For any types of structure, a foundation is extremely necessary and it has to be sturdy to support whole structure. So as for the strong foundation, the soil around it plays an really vital role. To figure on soils, we'd like to possess correct information regarding their properties and factors that have an effect on their behavior. By consolidating beneath load and dynamic volumetrically at the side of the seasonal moisture variation, those issues can be manifested through swelling, shrinkage & unequal settlement. During this paper the experimental results obtained within the laboratory on expansive soils treated with industrial waste (fly ash and lime) are presented. A study has been carried out to visualize the improvements within the properties of expansive soil with fly ash and lime in varied percentages. The check results reminiscent of liquid limit, standard proctor compaction, and differential free swelling test obtained on expansive clays mixed at different proportions of lime and fly ash admixture are bestowed and mentioned during this paper. The results show that stabilized clay has lesser swelling potential whereas increase in optimum moisture content has been observed.
