Abstract
It is aimed to achieve world class manufacturing which assures the customer a quality product at a competitive price and an on time delivery for every product including turbocharger. Turbocharger which consist of turbine housing is supplied to customer and its assembled in the vehicle exhaust systems. Thus, Turbine housing and exhaust manifold are manufacturer as two separate components, this increases the tooling cost and increased lead time. In this project, an attempt is made of combining the exhaust manifold with turbine housing as a single part, which will reduce turbocharger weight, machining cycle time and assembling time for improving productivity in addition to reduction in price and lead time. This integrated design of turbine housing with exhaust manifold will provide better function with satisfaction at customer end. These type of improvements are ever attempted in any industry to cut the cost of manufacturing to a greater extend with the understanding of ever increasing labour cost, other direct and indirect cost etc…
