In recent years, public shaming on socialmedia sites an do ther online public forums like Twitter has been on the rise . These events are known to have devastating consequences on a victim's social ,political ,and financial well being. Although its effects are well known, little is being done to address this problem in popular online social media sites, which often blame the large volume and diversity of comments and the high number of moderators required to accomplish the task. In this paper, we examine two aspects of public shaming detection in Twitter ,namely events and shamers, from the perspective of victims. Shaming tweets are categorize dinto six types. There is abuse, comparison ,passing judgment ,religious/ethnic ,sarcasm/joke, and what aboutery ,and each tweetis classified into one of these type sornon-shaming A majority of the participants who post comment sina shaming event aim to shame the victim .Interestingly ,the shamers' Twitter follower counts alsoi ncrease faster than those of the non-shamers Finally,a web application called Block Shame has been developed foron-the flymuting/blockingof shamersattackingavictimon Twitter,base doncategorization and classification ofs haming tweets.
