Metabolic disorders are generally defined as assemblage of contingencies which includes various diseases like dyslipidemia and excess abdominal fat, increase in sugar amounts in blood (“hyperglycemia’’), impaired insulin utilization, long term inflammation also other diseases which exist in an individual and leads to various complications. Herbal plants are well known and utilized in various traditional medical practices to treat metabolic diseases as these contain various phytoconstituents and chemicals which possess therapeutic benefits to treat body ailments. These plants with another is used in synergistic blends to make polyherbal preparations to produce intensified effect rather than using a single plant which provides a better way to treat and manage metabolic disorders. In various traditional medicine systems it has been described that out of over 1300 herbal plants which are used for the diabetes cure most of them are also effective to treat other problems associated with metabolic disorders like dyslipidemia, oxidative stress, chronic inflammation and hypertension. The herbal plants played a significant role in plant based medicines in both traditional and modern healthcare systems. Most of the currently market available pharmaceutical products are developed by using these plants. The research on the therapeutic and biological actions of the herbal plants is increasing in detail due to their various benefits with relation to vitality & well-being.
