The adoption of modern agricultural technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) devices, drones, artificial intelligence, and mobile-based advisory systems has the potential to enhance farm productivity and decision-making. However, farmers’ adoption of these technologies is influenced by behavioral, awareness-related, and motivational factors. This study examines the role of entrepreneurial orientation, awareness, perceived barriers, and peer encouragement in the adoption of modern agricultural technologies among farmers. Primary data were collected from 121 farmers using a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, ANOVA, and Chi-square tests were applied for data analysis. The findings indicate that farmers’ age does not significantly influence entrepreneurial behaviors such as risk-taking, openness to innovation, or market-seeking tendencies. However, age shows a significant association with awareness of modern agricultural technologies. Perceived adoption barriers, including cost and lack of technical knowledge, remain similar across age groups. The study also reveals a strong positive relationship between peer encouragement and farmers’ confidence in using new technologies. The results highlight that social influence, practical guidance, and confidence-building measures play a more critical role in technology adoption than demographic factors alone. The study provides useful insights for policymakers and agricultural extension agencies to design effective awareness and training programs that promote technology-driven and sustainable agricultural practices.
