Abstract
Digital financial inclusion has revolutionized rural economies, especially in India. Digital financial instruments, including government initiatives like the Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) and Aadhaar-enabled payment systems, have the potential to drastically change rural areas by offering previously unheard-of access to banking, credit, savings, and insurance.The study examines the socioeconomic effects of digital money with an emphasis on income production, job creation, and female empowerment, drawing on global success stories like M-Pesa in Kenya and Alipay in China. Through a rigorous analysis of both international and Indian case studies, this paper draws attention to the particular difficulties India confronts in attaining digital financial inclusion and offers practical, fact-based policy suggestions meant to promote long-term economic growth.The ultimate goal is to ensure that by 2047, digital financial inclusion will be a key pillar of India’s Viksit Bharat vision—driving economic empowerment, especially in rural areas, and bridging long standing gaps in access to financial services.
