The current case presentation deals with the clinical assessment and therapeutic intervention given to Ms. N, a 35-year-old woman suffering from the symptoms of major depressive disorder. The case presentation interestingly brings out her presenting complaints of feeling persistently sad, tired, disturbed sleep, feeling worthless, and suicidal ideation, along with providing a detailed documentation of her mental status examination. The intervention tackled possible emotional and cognitive barriers to Ms. N's recovery and laid the foundation for a supportive, well-structured therapeutic atmosphere. This case underscores the need for a multidimensional, client centered treatment option and highlights the benefits of a trauma-informed, empathetic approach in clinical practice.
