University, Tirupati Abstract Technology adoption has made a big change in the healthcare sector that not only brought opportunities to working women but also brought new challenges towards them. In this study, the authors investigate women professionals in the health sector who have adopted technology, defining their experience, challenges, and key factors for the adoption technology. It examines how technology affects their professional roles, patient care and their work life balance. In order to carry out the study, a mixed methods approach has been adopted, i.e. surveys and qualitative interviews with working women in different roles including doctors, nurses and administrative staff of private healthcare institutions. Areas of exploration include what technology is being used, like electronic health records, telemedicine platforms, and patient monitoring systems and if the technology is perceived to benefit or inhibit adoption. The findings of this study show that technology may increase efficiency, decision making, and patient outcome; however, women, especially in smaller clinics, face problems such as inadequate training, insufficient institutional support and fear of work overload. These roles of technology adoption are also played by socio-cultural factors, organizational culture, and access resources. The study reminds that for women to capitalise on the opportunities presented by technology, there need to be targeted interventions, for example training programs, gender sensitive policies and support systems. In addition, it emphasizes the necessity for collaboration of the stakeholders to solve the barriers to the inclusion of women in the health sector. With its emphasis on technology and gender in healthcare, this study helps to steer dialogue about workforce development, gender equity, and how technology will factor into healthcare going forward.
