Abstract
Abstract: Background: Examining new possibilities and approaches that arise from the junction of digital humanities and historical research, this study analyses the interaction in further depth. Novel tools and methodologies are being made available to historians as a result of the ongoing transformation of academic practices by digital technology. These methods both supplement and challenge established research methods. The impact of digital humanities tools on historical research is explored in this study. These tools include GIS, social network analysis, and text mining. Methodology: The digital technologies might find new patterns and insights in historical data using a mixed-methods approach that combines quantitative research of digital archives with qualitative case studies. Results: Research shows that there are new difficulties in data interpretation and methodology brought about by digital techniques, despite the fact that these approaches have immense potential for the visualisation and study of historical data on a grand scale. In order to make the most of these new methods, the research stresses the significance of combining digital literacy with conventional historical knowledge. Conclusion: The digital humanities are revolutionising our understanding of the past, going beyond just enhancing historical study. This study gives historians a road map for navigating and making use of these new approaches, and it adds to the continuing conversation about how historians will perform research in the digital era.
