Abstract

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this paper is to highlight the significance of groundwater and conservation of rivers and its positive effects and examine the major challenges that threaten its availability and quality, and propose solutions for sustainable management. Given the increasing global population and the impacts of climate change, effective ground water and conservation of rivers management is crucial for ensuring water security and supporting economic development. Ground water and rivers are fundamental components of the global freshwater system, intricately linked through the hydrological cycle. This presentation delves into the critical role groundwater plays in sustaining healthy rivers and explores the ramifications of unsustainable practices on both resources. Water conservation is a critical issue that requires immediate attention and action due to the increasing scarcity of freshwater resources globally. This paper explores various strategies for conserving water, highlights the importance of water conservation, and examines global perspectives and initiatives aimed at addressing this pressing issue. The goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current state of water resources, the challenges faced, and the solutions being implemented to ensure sustainable water use for future generations. The River Krishna is a vital source of water for Andhra Pradesh, providing irrigation for agriculture, drinking water for cities and towns, and habitat for wildlife. However, the river is facing a number of challenges, including pollution, overuse of water, and sand mining. There are a number of efforts underway to conserve the River Krishna in Andhra Pradesh. The government of Andhra Pradesh has constituted a River Rejuvenation Committee (RRC) to oversee the cleanup and restoration of the river. The RRC has developed an action plan that includes measures to reduce pollution, improve water quality, and conserve water. This presentation my research shows that water is essential for human life. It is everyone’s duty to conserve the ground water and rivers in our areas and the entire country. Ground water and rivers plays a vital role in our lives.
