Abstract
One of the most frequent complaints made by patients to dermatologists is hair loss, which is typically linked to serious psychological problems, emotional anguish, and depressive symptoms. It could be transient or permanent. A thorough clinical history, physical examination, laboratory testing, clinical diagnostic tests, and scalp biopsies—which may be required to confirm some diagnoses—are used to make the diagnosis of hair loss. The manufactured Indulekha hair oil formulations were assessed based on various physico-chemical factors. It demonstrates that the formulations are more soluble in hexane, have a yellow to brown color, and have a pleasant aromatic smell. In addition, further parameters were assessed for each batch (HFI-HF4), indicating that the results fall within the specified range. HF4's viscosity demonstrated a high of 35.3 ± 1.69 CP compared to other formulations. HF4 0929+0.005 density. For hair oil formulation, the specific gravity ranges from 0.972 + 0.002 to 0.987 + 0.002. When HF4 was compared to other samples, its saponification, acid, and iodine values performed better. Data from stability studies were shown to be stable at room temperature for studies lasting 0, 1, and 2 months. Using the DPPH free radical scavenging method, nitric oxide, and reducing power method, in-vitro antioxidant activity was measured. The isolated material's capacity to scavenge DPPH radicals was identified and contrasted with that of ascorbic acid, a common antioxidant. DPPH scavenging activity of standard ascorbic acid was 8.60 µg/ml. We calculated the IC50 value for each extract of HF1, HF2, HF3, and HF 4.The HF4 extracts exhibit good DPPH scavenging activity, with a value of 17.34 µg/ml, as per the DPPH data. For the identification of botanical materials, HPTLC is the perfect instrument. Furthermore, it is employed in semi-quantitative comparisons to get quantitative outcomes. Important phytoconstituents were found in extracts of HF1, HF2, HF3, and HF4 made in solvents with increasing polarity, according to the study. According to reports, these phytoconstituents have enormous medicinal potential. Identification of the phytoconstituents in the extract could be aided by HPTLC fingerprint pictures. Identification of the phytoconstituents in the extract could be aided by HPTLC fingerprint pictures. The chromatogram was captured at 366 and 254 nm. The formulations of herbal hair oil that contained the mobile phase (HF1, HF2, HF3, and HF4) were submitted to HPTLC. ethyl acetate Acid formic: Acid acetic glacial: (10; 1.1: 1.1: 2.6) Water. Seven bands with Rf values of 0.04, 0.36, 0.40, 0.65, 0.68, 0.90, and 0.99 were displayed in the formulas. It is evident that flavonoids are present in the hair oil formulations because the Rf values of 0.04 and 0.68 match Standard Rutin and Quercetin, respectively, and the Rf values of 0.99 and 0.98 match Standard Kaempferol and Rf values, respectively. The formulations of herbal hair oil that contained the mobile phase (HF1, HF2, HF3, and HF4) were submitted to HPTLC. Toluene: Glacial acetic acid: Ethyl acetate (8:1:1). Formulations displayed one band with a 0.96 Rf value. The presence of alkaloids in the hair oil formulations is shown by the Rf value matching the Standard Lawsone. Hair vitalizer formulations were examined. Hair start and lengthening metrics were used to assess hair vitalizer. Hair initiation in the HF3 formulation takes 7 days, which is faster than in the standard and control groups. Comparable outcomes were seen for the HF4 formulation groups when looking at mean hair length in millimeters.
