Abstract
The development of sweet cherry tree (Prunus avium L.) cultivation is hampered by two major constraints, namely the chilling requirement and the gametophytic self-incompatibility of certain varieties. To contribute to the development of this high-value-added crop capable of playing a socio-economic role in the rural and peri-forest environment we must know the varietal mixture to be installed and have a broad knowledge of its adaptation in the growing region. This review study focuses on the classification and requirements of cherry trees for good production. Also, Suggestions are made on planting and care of sweet cherries ________________________________________________________________________________________________________
