Abstract
This research delves into the evaluation of the skills and learning aptitude of a cohort of 200 undergraduate students by utilizing a self-assessment survey for a Video project assignment. The significance of Video projects lies in their potential to serve as potent instruments for augmenting learning outcomes. They contribute to an enriched understanding of the subject matter, while concurrently fostering the development of critical thinking, creative acumen, and soft skills among students. The study sought to gauge student perspectives and perceptions regarding the skills acquired during an Advertising project through an extensive set of 50 survey questions. These questions were meticulously designed to mirror the student viewpoint on the efficacy of the Video project. The assessment process covered each stage of the project assignment, ranging from the inception of ideas to the actual creation of the Video, followed by the editing and finalization phases. At every juncture, students' competencies were scrutinized to gain a comprehensive understanding of their evolving skill set. The sample population for this study was randomly drawn from undergraduate students pursuing diverse Art Majors at Andhra University. By scrutinizing the students' experiences and insights throughout the Video project, this research aims to contribute valuable insights into the multifaceted impacts of such assignments on the holistic development of undergraduate students in the realm of arts education.
