Abstract
Adolescent is the age group where physical transition takes place marked by the onset of puberty and the termination of physical growth. The major landmark of puberty is menarche, the onset of menstruation, which occurs between ages 12 and 13. Adolescent girls experienced discomfort during menstruation such as menstrual cramp, nausea, vomiting, etc. in order to get rid of it they consume non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs and oral contraceptive pills which may results in various side effects. So, yoga therapy wide child's pose was used to reduce menstrual cramps during menstruation. It is proven that yoga therapy wide child's pose can reduce the pain during menstruation. Hence, a study to assess the effectiveness of yoga therapy on level of pain during dysmenorrhoea among adolescent girls in selected schools, Bangalore, was undertaken for the study.
