Abstract
Abstract The paper explores Intersectionality and the principle of Resilience of Olena Hankivsky, through the character of Paramjit Khurana from Ashwin Sanghi’s novel The Vault of Vishnu. Employing the theory of Intersectionality by Kimberlé Crenshaw and Olena Hankivsky’s Resilience this study shows how the character Paramjit steers the complexities of gender, nationality, responsibility, and professional challenges, How Paramjit’s intersecting identities shape her experiences of discrimination and the strategies to overcome the adversities. The paper illustrates remarkable resilience and flexibility by focusing on examples of social, emotional, and physical challenges faced by Paramjit. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on resilience by highlighting the importance of considering the interplay of social identities and external forces in shaping an individual’s capabilities. Furthermore, it marks the need for institutional transformation to support resilience among marginalised individuals offering insights into creating a more inclusive and supportive environment.
