Medicinal plants are the major subject of extensive research worldwide because they are thought to be a source of new pharmaceuticals, that are used in traditional and alternative systems of Medicine to treat several diseases, and they can also provide a path towards the development of new drugs. Cuscuta reflexa or Aftimoon, is one such plant having a variety of ethno-medical uses. It is one of the potent plants, having several therapeutic properties such as an effective anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, hepatoprotective, anti-epileptic, relaxant, spasmolytic, anti-psoriatic, and anti-cancerous agent. Reviewing this, one of the most beneficial plants, gathering information from traditional Unani texts on the description of Cuscuta reflexa, it’s ethnomedical applications, and various pharmacological studies conducted on it are the main objectives of this study.
