Aim: The study aims to investigate the effect of periodontal diseases on MPV and PCT levels compared with systemically healthy individuals without periodontal diseases. Material and Method: The study included 60 participants who were divided into two groups: Group A (periodontally healthy individuals) and Group B (Patients with chronic periodontitis). Plaque index (PI), Probing pocket depth (PPD) and Clinical attachment loss (CAL) were recorded in these participants. Blood samples were then collected and were sent for hematological analysis to record Mean platelet volume (MPV), Means Corpuscular Volume (MCV), Plateletcrit (PCT) and the leucocyte levels. The data was collected and statistically analyzed. Results: The results of this study revealed a significant correlation between periodontal parameters and MPV and PCT values. However, MCV and leucocytes levels did not demonstrate a significant relation with the disease parameters. Conclusion: It could be concluded that periodontal inflammation can result in the alteration of MPV and PCT levels.
