Abstract
Cerebral palsy (CP) is a condition caused by a non-progressive lesion in the developing brain, with a prevalence ranging from 1.5 to three cases per 1,000 persons. This case study explores the efficacy of neuro-physiotherapy in enhancing gross motor function in a male patient diagnosed with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. Spastic diplegia is a form of CP characterized by high muscle tone and stiffness predominantly in the legs, leading to challenges in mobility and coordination. The patient underwent a comprehensive neuro-physiotherapy program tailored to his specific needs, including strength training, stretching, balance exercises, and functional mobility activities. Over the course of months, the patient's progress was meticulously monitored using standardized assessment tools such as the Gross Motor Function Measure and the Pediatric Balance Scale (PBS). Significant improvements were noted in the patient's gross motor abilities, including enhanced walking speed, better postural control, and increased independence in daily activities. This case study highlights the potential benefits of individualized neuro-physiotherapy interventions in managing spastic diplegic cerebral palsy and underscores the importance of early and consistent therapeutic engagement for optimal outcomes.
