‘Me-Dam-Me-Phi’ – a festival of Ahom community of Assam represents a significant part of the Ahom festivals. The research paper prepend into the origin of festivals, it’s significance, rituals, participations and contribution of Ahom kings in the festival, celebrating and it’s importance in present days. The research paper prospects the difference between the past and the present regarding the celebration of this festival and it’s rituals. The Paper also focuses on the Me-dam-me-phi festival as well as some other festivals of the Tai Ahom community. By examining the festival’s evolution and contemporary practices, this study aims to illuminate its enduring relevance in maintaining cultural identity and continuity within the Ahom community. The festival has had a significant impact on the social life of the Ahom people since the time of the Ahom rule.
