This research paper delves into the intricacies of production planning within the manufacturing industry. By analyzing operational workflows, it identifies critical inefficiencies related to order processing, inventory management, and production scheduling. These inefficiencies result in prolonged lead times, excess stock levels, and material count imbalances, collectively impacting the industry’s competitive edge. A systematic literature review of 40 publications in Lead time analysis and Inventory control and tracking was employed in this study, This review presents a bifurcation of 5 suitable papers for Lead time reduction and 7 suitable papers for inventory control and tracking. The study aims to address these challenges and enhance overall efficiency in heavy equipment production planning
