Abstract
Throughout history, human values have been the foundation of societies across civilizations, irrespective of religious or cultural beliefs. These values include the development of general knowledge, common sense, and problem-solving skills; perseverance in the face of adversity unity, cooperation, and teamwork to achieve common goals, tolerance, understanding, and acceptance of individual differences, honesty and truthfulness, and inner harmony and outer peace as essential for creating wider peace among family, friends, neighbors, regions, and nations. Additionally, compassion for all beings-human, animal, or plant—and giving time and effort to others selflessly, without expecting physical or emotional rewards, have been highly esteemed. Recently, however, there appears to have been a shift away from these values, with a growing focus on materialism, power, and self-interest.
