*Abstract* **Trends in SAARC: Achievements, Challenges and Future Prospects** The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is a regional organization of eight South Asian countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka). The main objectives of SAARC are to promote economic and social development in the region, strengthen regional cooperation, and promote peace and security. SAARC was established in 1985, and since then it has made significant progress in a number of areas. This research paper provides a brief overview of the organization's history, its major achievements and challenges, and its future prospects. The paper also discusses the implications of the recent changes in the geopolitical landscape of South Asia for SAARC. The paper finds that SAARC has made significant progress in a number of areas, including trade, investment, energy, and connectivity. However, the organization also faces a number of challenges, including the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan, and the political instability in Afghanistan. The paper concludes that SAARC has the potential to play a key role in promoting peace and prosperity in South Asia.
