This research paper proposal focuses on the life and contributions of Udham Singh Nagoke, a prominent figure in the Akal Fauj during the tumultuous period leading up to Punjab’s partition in 1947. Udham Singh Nagoke, along with other Sikh leaders, played a pivotal role in advocating for Sikh rights and autonomy amidst escalating communal tensions in Punjab. Through speeches, meetings, and organizational efforts, they mobilized the Sikh population to safeguard Sikh majority areas and ensure the safety of Sikhs during a period marked by communal violence. Udham Singh Nagoke’s commitment to non violence and peace, coupled with his support for the formation of the Akal Fauj, underscores the Sikh leaders determination to protect Sikh interests while seeking a peaceful resolution to the challenges of that time. Additionally, in the post independence era, Udham Singh Nagoke continued to play a significant role in ensuring the safety of Muslim convoys, reflecting his commitment to humanitarian values and inter community harmony.
