Abstract

Real-time communication (RTC) is a contemporary standard and a collective effort within the industry aimed at expanding the web browsing paradigm. Its purpose is to enable access to a wide range of information, including social media, chat platforms, video conferencing, television, and unified communication, all facilitated over the internet. These systems allow users to engage with video and audio content in various ways, such as viewing, recording, commenting, or editing, utilizing time-sensitive cloud infrastructures that prioritize the provision of high-quality services. However, the existence of numerous proprietary protocols and codecs presents a challenge as they lack interoperability and scalability when implementing multipoint video-conferencing systems. To address this issue, WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) has emerged as a cutting-edge, open technology. It empowers real-time communication capabilities in audio, video, and data transmission through web browsers, utilizing JavaScript APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) without the need for additional plug-ins.When users establish direct connections, without relying on proxy servers, virtual private networks (VPNs), or The Onion Router (TOR), it is highly probable that they will subsequently reconnect from a nearby location. In the event that users connect from two distinct locations, it raises the possibility of two different individuals being involved, one of whom may have illicitly obtained the credentials, or the user may be utilizing an anonymization service of some sort. The primary objective in this context is to track the client's activities and determine whether they are employing a VPN by analyzing their IP address.
