Abstract
In recent years, India has been in the limelight with regard to its development, in all aspects but most particularly concerning the number of startups which have been established and are thriving in the country. This research paper initially conducts an in-depth PESTLE analysis to uncover the various macro factors that are causing a surge in the number of Indian startups. The paper then proceeds to focus specifically on the startups in the Indian tech industry by analysing the reason for the popularity of this industry amongst entrepreneurs and conducting case studies on some revolutionary startups in the space including Byjus, Paytm and Zomato. Finally, the paper conducts an evaluation of the increasing number of Indian tech startups in the country’s society and economy.
