International Politics and Economics form the core factors in determining the amount of foreign money coming into a country. The paper looks at two countries in Asia, India and South Korea, which both emerged independent at the same time within a span of two years with comparable levels of poverty and cultural heritage and history. Their geography, demographic outlook, political alignment, domestic economic policy and foreign policy have however spun them in entirely different directions and a major part of this was their views on foreign direct investment and the politics influencing so.
