Abstract
Prescribing antibiotics by dental practitioners has become an important aspect of day-to-day dental practice. This is the reason why antibiotics account for a huge majority of medicines being prescribed by dentists. As it has been associated with bacteremia induced due to dental procedures, antibiotics have historically been prescribed as a prophylactic measure. Keeping in mind the results obtained from previous studies, we took up the present study to investigate the antibiotic prescribing practices of dentists.
