Due to their hectic schedules, many purchased ready-made clothing at retail stores, expecting a perfect fit, whether or not they had a fit trial. The only thing that the current online clothing ordering systems can offer are 2D representations of the clothing, which prevents each customer from finding the ideal fit. The clothing business undertakes numerous studies to close the time gap in order to address this issue.This paper addresses design and execution of an
augmented reality "virtual dressing room" for realtime simulation of 3D clothing, bridging the gap between fabric selection and ultimate purchase. The system is designed to measure user body parameters, including 3D measurements of the hip, waist, chest, knee, and thigh circumferences, by using a single Microsoft Kinect V2 sensor as the depth sensor to create a customized model for every user. The clothing's size category is selected according to each customer's measurements. The Unity3D game engine was integrated to allow for the virtual overlay of 3D
clothing in real time on the user. In order to choose the textile, the system also has gesture controls and gender identification. A realistic fitting experience is offered by the developed program, which successfully added physics motions to the chosen dress model based on the user's physical movements. A single depth sensor may be used to simulate 3D cloth in real time with less than 10% average measurement error, according to a performance test.
