Water scarcity is a major concern in many parts of the world, and it is crucial to develop sustainable and effective ways to manage water resources. Smart irrigation systems utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning techniques have emerged as a promising solution for improving water management in agriculture. In our paper we employ a smart irrigation system that utilizes sensors and automated actuators to optimize water usage and improve yields. The system comprises a network of soil moisture sensors that continuously monitor soil moisture levels and maintain the moisture level of the soil. The data is then analyzed using machine learning algorithms to predict crop water requirements and optimize irrigation schedules. Additionally, the system integrates weather data to adjust the irrigation schedules in response to changing weather conditions. The proposed system has been tested in a greenhouse environment, and the results demonstrate that it can reduce water consumption by up to 45% while maintaining crop yields.
