Abstract: This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of educational applications on students’ academic performance. Today, the number of mobile applications as increased greatly in the society same thing also goes with educational applications that is being used in the higher institutions. The purpose of the study is to examine the availability of educational applications in higher institutions, how well it is being used during teaching and how it can affect students’ academic performance in higher institutions. The study adopted descriptive research design of the survey type. Simple random sampling techniques was used to select 50 undergraduate students from higher institution in South-West geo-political zone of Nigeria. A self-constructed questionnaire tagged “Effects of Educational Application on Students Academic Performance” was used to seek relevant information from respondents. The result from the findings showed that educational application helps in time management in higher institutions and also helps makes abstract topics real to the students. It was recommended that Educational Applications should be used by students during and after lectures which will help to improve the academic performance of Students in higher institutions and also help in developing their cognitive abilities.
