A comparative study was conducted to analyze the effects of seasonal variations on physical and chemical properties of different forest soil types and to assess the relationship among soil parameters- in Murree, Islamabad-Pakistan. For analysis, samples were collected from the different forests in the vicinity of Islamabad in all four seasons. Physical properties of soil such as pH, Temperature, WHC, soil moisture, and soil texture were analyzed with standard procedures and types of equipment. Chemical properties including SMB, P, TN, TOC are also analyzed using fumigation extraction method, colorimetric analysis, TKN method, Walkley and black method, respectively. Statistical analysis of data was performed using SPSS-16 software for Pearson co-relation matrix to analyze the significance of data. Results of the study shows that SMB is highest during summers season while lowest is found in Murree samples during winters. In winter season 30mg/kg TP is observed in NUST samples which is highest while TP decreases in summer season. TN content was observed 41.8% (Margalla site) in winter season which is the highest, while during the spring season, TN reduces to 2.59%. The highest total organic Carbon (TOC) is observed in Margalla during winter season and the lowest TOC was observed in NUST samples during summer season. Statistical analysis reveals that the TOC has a positive co-relation with MBS, WHC and TN, while MBS has a positive correlation with TOC and Temperature. Negative Correlation was found between soil moisture content (SMC) and Temperature.
