Abstract: Novel colloidal nanocarriers called polymeric micelles (PM) are used to deliver drugs with low water solubility. They are composed of poly (ethylene oxide)-b-poly (propylene oxide), poly (ethylene oxide)-b-poly (ester), and poly (ethylene oxide)-b-poly (amino acid) amphiphilic block copolymers. Above the critical micelle concentration (CMC), the hydrophilic corona and hydrophobic core self-assembled. The main element of the hydrophobic medication is enclosed. PM have a number of general benefits over low molecular mass surfactants, including increased stability, tailorability, cargo capacity, non-toxicity, and controlled drug release. Three main drug delivery domains: controlled drug release, drug targeting, and drug solubilization are served by the use of polymeric micelles. The goal of this review is to learn more about drug loading, characterization of PM, block copolymer utilized, preparation techniques, engineering, and drug release from PM.
Keywords: Polymeric micelle, nanocarrier, drug delivery, CMC.
